She grew up in a Deaf family immersed in ASL. She got a BA in ASL Studies from Gallaudet and then moved to Minnesota to teach at the University of Minnesota. She has taught ASL there for 8 years, teaching in the fall and spring. In the summer, she goes to Western Maryland College working on her Master’s in Deaf Education. Her focus is teaching ASL to both Deaf children and to adult teachers of ASL.
She has lived in Minnesota for the past 8 years and will for the foreseeable future.
