The CATIE Center at St. Catherine University is proud to host the first ever National Symposium on Healthcare Interpreting for sign language interpreters and the Deaf community.

Background on the disparities impacting these communities will be provided through information drawn from a 2007 study by Mt. Sinai"s Deaf Access Program and The Current State of Health Care for People with Disabilities , a 2009 report from the National Council on Disability as well as The Joint Commission’s, Hospital, Language, and Culture study.
Three tracks will be offered to meet the needs of interpreters, healthcare students and professionals, and Deaf consumers. Click here for more info.
